Jimmy Rollins BaseBowl Tournament

Phillies’ 2007 NL MVP and three-time MLB All-Star Jimmy Rollins joins forces with title sponsor AFSBO.com and supporting sponsors Amgen and Wyeth when he trades in his baseball glove for a bowling ball on Thursday, June 19, 2008, as he hosts the Third Annual Jimmy Rollins Celebrity BaseBOWL Tournament that will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Lucky Strike Lanes in Philadelphia.

Other celebrities scheduled to join Jimmy for the event benefiting the Arthritis Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania’s summer camp for children with arthritis include ESPN personalities as well as current and retired players from the Phillies, Eagles and Philadelphia Soul. ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt will serve as the celebrity emcee.

“I am thrilled to host my third annual bowling event to help these children who suffer the chronic pain from arthritis,” Rollins said. “Everyone is going to have a great time out there – this event marks the only time that strikes are a good thing! This is a great opportunity for me to give back to the children of the Philadelphia community that has been supportive of me,” he concluded.

An awards ceremony will follow the tournament. The celebrity bowling tournament will feature professional athletes, sports personalities and entertainers, teamed with teams made up of executives and Phillies fans.
